Coyote Idol Tonight!

Tonight is the 3rd annual Coyote Idol show. It starts at 7:30 and will take place in the Cerro Coso Lecture Center. It should be a lot of fun and we have a lot of prizes for the winners.

Today in about 30 minuets or so, I get to go down to the Police station for my Live Scan. Its an electronic finger printing that gets sent to the F.B.I and D.O.J. Its for my new job at the Boys and Girls club, basically making sure I have no prior record of crimes and especially crimes against Children. After That I have one more step before I start working...the T.B. test. I hate needles, of all the pre employment stuff this will be the hardest. Drug test, no problem. Background check, easy as pie. But needles...NEEDLES! :(

I also get my kids this weekend. Its been a few weeks so I'm happy to get them. I'm going to take them to Coyote Idol to see the show and tomorrow Christian and I are taking them up to the mountains to play in the snow. Not quite sure about Sunday yet but I'm sure we will find something fun to do.

Las Vegas trip.

Christian is now 21 years old! I took her to Las Vegas for her birthday and she had a great time. It was Christian, a friend (Tony) and me. We got on the road Friday morning at nine a.m. so we could spend time wondering around Vegas before our concert started later that night. We arrived a few hours later around noon. Check in at the condo is not until four p.m. but we decided we could just go there anyway and get ourselves oriented. I went to the front desk to inquire about discounts or coupons and low and behold, our room was ready and they were able to check us in. Sweet!

We took all our stuff up to the room and caught the shuttle to the strip. Christian had been talking about the White Tigers for months so we went to Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage. Price of admission was only $15, less than I had expected so we all went in. They have Dolphins, Tigers (both white and yellow), Lions and even Alpacas. We took many pictures, Dolphins doing flips, Tigers lounging about and even a Lion pooping.

After watching all the animals we decided to head to Ceasers Palace for lunch at Planet Hollywood. Christian ordered her very first legal age drink, a "Gorillas in the Mist". I told the server about her Birthday but she said unfortunately they no longer do anything for that, bummer. We got a plate of the infamous Texas Tostadas to split between us and some sandwiches. Lunch was great.

We then went to A small Casino called Bill's, formerly known as Barbary Coast. We started by teaching Christian Blackjack which didn't turn out to well so we then went to the slots, which again, didn't turn out to well. The time for the concert was nearing so we headed over to the palms to get ready. I won a few of the ten dollar tokens i collect but other than that didn't gamble to much there as money was quickly running out.

The concert started and blew me away. They opened with this duo called "Uncle Scratches Gospel Revival Band" they were great. Check them out but be warned, they are possibly offensive to a lot of you out there so if you do check them out just take the joke for what it is. So Puscifer finally takes the stage and puts on a show! And I mean A show. It wasn't just a concert with them playing music but it had pre recorded videos about the band and what it was about, they had stage actors come out dressed in costume doing a little comedy routine, it was great, I cant express that enough. It was there first ever show and I got to see it.

So when the concert was over, and as we passed by the drummer from Tool, we filtered out to the lobby to grab a beer and a Taxi back to the strip. The rest of the weekend was a little slower paced than that Friday. We gambled and won the rest of the time we were there and were able to leave Vegas with money, we met up with my Dad And his wife for lunch at Margaritaville which was awesome. I don't see them all that much but when I do we have a good time.

Vegas is one of my favorite places to visit and can't wait for next time! oh and in two weeks, snowboarding trip :)

iChad

I finally got my iPhone that I have been waiting patently for what seems like forever. It's the first Apple product I have owned and am a little nervous about but so far, I love it. I can now check my email on the go as I can with weather conditions, news, sports scores... just about anything I want really. What can I say? We live in a material world and I am a material girl...er, boy.

I also have gotten myself a job. I am very excited that the Boys & Girls club has hired me. To me its more than a job. I know kids can be frustrating at times, especially when they are in large numbers, but I know it will be well worth it.

Last but not least, I am going to Las Vegas this weekend for Christians 21st birthday. we are going to have a blast. I will take her to many of the places I love but will also go where ever she wants to go, do what ever she wants to do and see what ever she wants to see. I cant wait to write about this trip. I am also going to L.A. next month for a school trip which will also be a blast.

What a weekend!

I went down to Temecula to see my brother and his family this weekend. I needed an escape from Ridgecrest in the worst way and this was just what the doctor ordered. I showed up Thursday night around midnight so we didn't do to much other than go to bed. I say bed and not sleep because with me its always just bed and still very little sleep.

Anyway, so Friday we kinda just hung out and relaxed, not much going on but that is fine with me. Saturday rolls around and my brother is a huge UFC fan and was having a party for the fight that night. I got myself ready for the party, showered, got my hair did, all that stuff we have to do to be socially acceptable. People started showing up around five and for the most part when I was introduced the other person would say "So your the infamous Chad." To which the only reply I had was "If that's what you want me to be."

Drinks were had by many and I had a great time. Everyone was laughing, telling jokes, telling stories all outside with a fire going in the fire pit. Oh how I love fire. The next morning we woke up and had breakfast at IHOP. I love stuffed french toast. I then headed home to hang out with some friends in Ridgecrest for the Superbowl. It was a good game but just like when the Steelers beat my Seahawks, they had a little help. At the end, when the booth didn't review an obvious error in judgment on the field. But that's just my opinion.
